Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics at Leiden University Ron Diris is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics at Leiden University. He is a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA). He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics at the School of Business and Economics of Maastricht University. During his Ph.D., Ron was a short-stay visiting scholar at the University of Chicago. His research interests are mainly in the field of the economics of education and labour economics. His current work largely focuses on how major global transitions (technological change, green transition, migration) affect labour markets, and on the mediating role of human capital in this process.
