Sarah Wolff

Sarah Wolff is Professor in International Studies and Global Politics at Leiden University. She previously was Professor in European Politics and International Relations at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), where she also led the Centre for European Research (2017-2023) and was the Director of the QMUL MA in International Relations in Paris (2021-2023). Her research concentrates on Global International Relations, Gender, Migration and Religion in International Relations, European Union, North Africa. She is on the Editorial Board of the journal Mediterranean Politics. Her book Michigan University Press on ‘Secular Power Europe and Islam: Identity and foreign policy’ received the 2023 best book award from the European Union Studies Association. She is Visiting Professor at the College of Europe and on the steering committee of UACES and of ECPR SGEU.

Her expertise on Migration includes research on Rescue at Sea in the Mediterranean, Frontex, the role of cities in managing migration in the Mediterranean, digital tools for asylum in the EU. She has theoretically contributing to the agenda on decentring the study of migration and is an expert of EU migration and asylum policies.
