This pop-up exhibition is part of the LDE GMD Conference 2026, Design and Migration Societies: Co-Creating Just Futures.
It showcases what designers, design research and processes, and design as an outcome entail, and how they contribute to research and design for migration societies. Most projects are by scholars and students affiliated with TU Delft and were selected to open up a dialogue, and to stimulate critical design thinking and transdisciplinary cooperation.
The works are presented through a range of formats, from larger installations to more intimate encounters. Some projects are shown in more detail, revealing how research and design processes take shape. A broader range of projects is presented on flip cards, inviting visitors to discover each one at their own pace. Alongside, there is a selection of photographs taken by children and young people living in an asylum seekers' center (AZC), which demonstrates how different disciplines can work together in participatory work.
This exhibition is meant as a starting point for conversation. We invite you to share your thoughts and get in touch with the designers to learn more about their projects, collaborate, or support their future work.
We warmly thank all the designers and contributors for generously sharing their work.
