Professor of Economics, Director of the Center for Economic and Financial Research and Studies (CEFRS), and Coordinator of the Migration Research Unit (MRU) at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science (FEPS), Cairo University (2021). Founder of the Economic Observatory Using Artificial Intelligence.
In July 2019, she was nominated as the first woman to serve as Chairperson of Misr Travel. She also held the position of Vice Dean for Community Services and Environment Development, and in 2017, she was nominated as the first Vice Minister of Tourism.
She has more than 25 years of experience in research, training, and awareness, along with over 15 years of consultancy in the fields of transport, airports, travel, and tourism economics and statistics. Since 2006, she has been Economic Advisor to the Minister of Tourism, leading numerous research projects and studies on the Tourism Satellite Account (TSA). From 2008 to 2018, she was appointed Head of the TSA Unit in Egypt.
As a member of the Egyptian National Competitiveness Council (ENCC), delegate of Egypt to the UNWTO Statistics Committee and the OECD Tourism Committee, and a member of the Arab Transport Research Society (ATRS) since 2008, she has delivered a wide range of consultancy and training programs in transport, tourism investment, planning, and tourism policies.
She also serves as a member of the Supreme Council of Universities in Egypt and sits on the boards of several companies in the fintech and hospitality sectors.
She graduated from a French school and obtained her Master’s and PhD degrees from Cairo University.
